edit_1_4359_20171025082424Halal or not a food we consume is a matter that can not be underestimated. Because in the teachings of Islam if the food that goes into the body of the haram then worship can be rejected by Allah Subhanawata’ala. So the  Halal Thoyiban Study Center UB held a Halal Canteen Standard Workshop Monday-Wednesday (23/10-25 / 10/2017) at Guest House UB.

The workshop which was attended by Regional Office The Ministry of Religion all over Indonesia, such as UIN throughout, UNISMA, UMM, Pondok and Madrasah in Malang City, is aimed to make the canteen in the participating institution using the Halal standard which has been formulated by Center of Halalan Thoyiban Studies. Head of UB Halal Product Security Guarantee Agency Prof. Ir. Sukoso. M.Sc., Ph.D said that Halal Affairs is not about the affairs of the brand.

“Often we get the idea that Halal is a trademark. If there is a halal stamp means it is safe but to publish halal stamp on a product is not as easy as imagined, “said Sukoso.

So Halal Thoyiban UB Study Center has made the right Halal standard with complete documents such as SOP, Work Instruction, and other documents. This is what will be explained clearly to the workshop participants to be presented in the cafeteria of each agency.

Vice Rector II Dr. Sihabuddin, SH., MH, in his speech said the halal haram case of the products affects to who consumed. And most important is the responsibility to Allah subhanawata’ala.

“We do not want to produce smart students but we also want to produce noble students and initially from food consumed,” said Sihabuddin.

This activity is not only a seminar but the participants also conduct a visitation directly to Halalan Thoyiban UB cafeteria be able to absorb direct management and practice with Halal Thoyiban Standard UB. [Dimas/Humas UB]
